Lake Level

The lake level dropped over a foot from early May to mid-Spetember.  October rains brought the last official reading on October 10, 2023 up to 874.58 feet above mean sea level.   This represents a seasonal drop of 9 inches.  The lake level has now dropped 2.6 ft from the all-time high in July 2020.

Invasive Species Update

No new Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) were observed during the 2023 survey of Long Lake by Golden Sands Resource Conservation & Development Council, Inc (RC&D).  The detection survey, performed on July 12, 2023, is a thorough review of the lake’s nearshore area looking for any AIS, both animals and plants, like zebra mussels and Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM).
